When in full operation the “Leisure” rides are as titled, up to a maximum distance of 25 – 30 miles. When numbers allow we can run up to 3 groups. The “Leisures” at a very leisurely 10 to 11mph and these rides are not just entry level but a great social group where non cyclists mix with the regulars for a Saturday sortie into the local lanes. Avoiding traffic can’t be guaranteed, but some routes are relatively car free as we aim to provide as much of a trouble free ride as possible.

You don’’t have to be a “cyclist” to enjoy and benefit from these rides, the age ranges have been from teenagers to the over seventies. The leisure rides are the foundation of Tiptree Velo and are very well supported, as a consequence Intermediate level rides will also be taking place for those who wish to progress in speed and distance, but this is by no means compulsory and the leisure rides will always remain as such.

The “Leisures Plus” group at a slightly quicker pace at approx 13mph and finally the “Leisure Plus Plus” group at circa 14-15 mph.

Below are some GPX map files from previous rides. Mouse over the waypoint icon on the map or any point within the graph section for specific details on altitude, speed and gradient.
