In this year of the commemeration of the centenary of the outbreak of World War One we at Tiptree Velo are embarking on a memorial ride. It is entitled The Tiptree Ton, and aims to provide a fitting challenge for our riders to aspire to and achieve. All riders that take part will be asked to make a voluntary donation of £10 which will be contributed in it’s entirety to this years Poppy Appeal in the village, any additional donations from non riders will be gratefully recieved. The route can be downloaded from Garmin Connect http://t.co/kGItqiYtRl, if you require a gpx file or route sheet these can be obtained by contacting Simon thetiptreecyclist@sky.com It is an anti clockwise circular journey that takes in the best scenary on offer in this fine county of ours, informal refreshment stops can be taken in many of the village pubs and tea rooms that are passed along the way.
The Tiptree Ton will become our signature 100 mile route and will be run on the first Sunday of June each year.
